Happy Chinese New Year

Today is the Chinese New Year in China, and the eve in the US. And, since we have a Chinese boy living with us, we decided to do a bit of celebrating this holiday. So, we made Chinese lanterns - as you can see below, James made a very exquisite one while Hannah and Josh went a bit more quickly. Hannah put the dragon symbol on hers since it is the year of the dragon, and Josh put fire and snake on his (easy symbol guide here). We also made a Chinese paper cutting which was a bit complicated, but turned out nice. And, we made door hanger-type things that you actually put upside down on your front doors (some type of play on words) which wishes the people who come to visit you blessings in the new year.
