RG, Day 4

We finished up our four day immersion today with one last session on The Promised Land (the place of our ultimate satisfaction). It was very challenging and encouraging to think about what it is that we really desire and if God is truly a part of it. Piper summarizes the thought well in this quote:

“If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ was not there?”

Following our last group breakout session, we had a time of celebration. It was an opportunity to share how God had worked in your life over the weekend. I appreciated hearing many of the ways people had been changed. Then we completed our time together with communion...a fitting end to a weekend that was all about Christ's work for us on the cross. 

Once I process a bit more, I'll write more specifically about what the weekend meant to me personally. :)
