We finished a read aloud today called Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest. It was a fun and pleasurable read. Lots of Robin Hood's antics and, in the end, how he was pardoned by King Richard. It had more aspects of Robin Hood's life than the Disney movie portrays.
There is still, of course, the subtle approval of stealing because it is for a good cause. I don't particularly like that aspect, but he is definitely shown as someone who is upright and honorable in all other areas.
