This is one of my favorite desserts and things to bring to potlucks and such. I received this recipe from a dear lady named Dorothy who made it for a Christmas Cookie Exchange many years ago in CT.
Almond Bars
Base
1 pkg Yellow Cake Mix
1 stick margarine/butter (softened)
1 Egg
--Mix and press into 9x13 greased baking dish
Topping
8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
2 eggs
1 1/2 t vanilla
3/4 t almond extract
1# powdered sugar
--Blend well and spread over base
--Sprinkle with sliced almonds
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
Store in refrigerator
